A very pretty late 19th / early 20th century Staffordshire(?). Porcelain and ormolu mounted Bonbonniere with a hinged cover in the form of a recumbent dog, initialed DV at the center front of the piece.
There is a hairline crack that runs around the dog's shoulders and over his back and there has been a repair - the paintwork has been retouched. This is more noticeable in the pics than in reality - but it is there- and it is reflected in the price, which undamaged, would be £600+
measures- 9cm long, 5cm wide, 8cm high
