A Georgian Redware humidor circa 1820 - 30 finely modelled as a spaniel wearing a collar with bells on.
(My pics are angled so that the head looks rather larger than it should in relation to the body. Group shot looks a bit better)
The head lifts off to reveal the storage area. Can be used for dog treats or even as an Urn for a beloved dog’s ashes.
Redware is an unglazed stoneware made in 17th and 18th centuries in Europe, especially for jugs and vessels.
It is extremely rare to find pieces like these, depicting dogs and hunting related animals, and in such good condition.
